Beauty

The soul is educated by what it loves.

Beauty is not decoration. It is one of the ways truth becomes visible and desirable. A civilization shows what it loves by what it builds, sings, paints, preserves, and places at the center of public life.

Why it matters

The West built cathedrals because stone could preach. It cultivated chant because sound could pray. It preserved poetry because language could reveal order. Beauty forms desire before argument begins.
